Mal is a nine year old inventor who keeps his genius a secret from his mom, teacher and classmates, so that he won't be taken out of the fourth grade and forced to go to college and do boring grownup stuff. Luckily, he doesn't have to bear his secret alone. His talking dog Chad is his confidant and best friend. Together they use Mal's inventions to go on all sorts of adventures, like rocket pack races, building robots, and becoming superheroes.
